Saris - sponsor of CycleOps Classes at BICReady to take your power on the bike to a new level? Join BIC for our CycleOps Power Training classes! The concentration of the classes will be on raising your power at lactate threshold and VO2 Max through specific intervals with a weekly volume progression for these intervals. You will also work drills to develop proper pedaling technique.
Each class will be approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes in length.

You will use your own road bicycle, but will be able to use a special trainer that measures your power output on the bike and your workouts will be designed around your individual power zones.  Your instructor will help you establish your power training zones so that you do the workouts at the correct intensity.

Each class participant needs to bring their own road bicycle, water bottles, and towel and be on their bike and ready to go at the designated start time.

Workout Schedule

Week 1

Introduction class – power testing at lactate threshold to determine power and HR training zones

Intervals at LT threshold

Week 2

Primary emphasis on LT intervals and pedaling technique drills

Week 3

LT intervals and technique drills

Week 4

VO2 Max intervals

Week 5

Zone 4 and Zone 5 criss-cross intervals

Week 6

Longer “sweet spot” intervals with surges
