Children’s Program – Ages 2 to 10 years
CycleTykes teaches your youngster all the fundamental skills he or she will need to master the sport of bicycle riding in an energetic and fun environment. Anna Polovin, who has successfully worked with children of all ages in a variety of athletic pursuits, heads up this unique program. Safety is our first priority, followed closely by helping your child gain new proficiency in cycling through enjoyment!
All participants in CycleTykes will need to have a membership pass. Your Tyke will have his or her picture taken and a card made prior to registration in a class. The pass is used for attendance purposes and to ensure all participants have filled out a release waiver. CycleTykes Membership Passes are $10 and good for 1 year.
All CycleTykes classes are priced at $109 per 8 week session (15% sibling discount, mid-session pro-rate available).

Age Groups
- Scooters = 2-3 yrs
- Wheelers = 3-4 yrs
- Pedalers = 4-5 yrs
- Ringers = 5-6 yrs
- Cruisers = 6-8 yrs
- Jumpers = 8-10 yrs
Description of Classes by Age Group
Scooters (2-3):
Learn the basics of the Strider bike. Learn to balance and use footwork on Strider bikes. Learn to stop, turn and glide. Learn bicycle safety and parts.
Scooters should be able to follow basic directions and spend some time away from their parents (hopefully).
Wheelers (3-4):
Work towards mastery of stopping, turning and gliding while moving through obstacles on the outer track area on Strider bikes. Attempt pedaling at least by the latter part of the session. Learn bicycle safety and parts. Be introduced to the inner mountain bike track on Strider bikes.
Pedalers (4-5):
Practice steering, accelerating, stopping and general control on a pedal bike. Continue learning about bike safety and parts.
Attempt new challenges on the inner mountain bike track.
Ringers (5-6):
Continue to try new challenges on the inner mountain bike track- mastery of green runs, working toward blue runs and beyond.
Cruisers (6-8):
Be introduced to more advanced riding and challenges of all different types such as teeter totters, high beams, skinny beams, pump tracks, etc. Start to learn appropriate gearing if using a geared bike. Cruisers should be comfortable on blue runs.
Jumpers (8-10):
Work towards mastery of all obstacles and tracks at the facility. Try new, advanced tricks like wheelies, bunny hopping, bigger gap jumps, etc
