CycleTykes
Children’s Program – Ages 2 to 10 years
CycleTykes teaches your youngster all the fundamental skills he or she will need to master the sport of bicycle riding in an energetic and fun environment. Ryan McFarling, who has successfully worked with children of all ages in a variety of athletic pursuits, heads up this unique program. Safety is our first priority, followed closely by helping your child gain new proficiency in cycling through enjoyment!
All participants in CycleTykes will need to have a membership pass. Your Tyke will have his or her picture taken and a card made prior to registration in a class. The pass is used for attendance purposes and to ensure all participants have filled out a release waiver. Annual CycleTykes Membership Passes are $10, renewable November 1st.
All CycleTykes classes are priced at $109 per 8 week session (20% sibling discount, mid-session pro-rate available).

Description of Classes by Age Group
Age is only one factor when determining what class your child may be in. Please read the following descriptions or give us a call at 303.292.5464 to help place your child.
Scooters (2-3):
Learn the basics of the Strider bike. Learn to balance and use footwork on Strider bikes. Learn to stop, turn and glide. Learn bicycle safety and parts.
Scooters should be able to follow basic directions and spend some time away from their parents (hopefully).
Wheelers (3-4):
Work towards mastery of stopping, turning and gliding while moving through obstacles on the outer track area on Strider bikes. Attempt pedaling at least by the latter part of the session. Learn bicycle safety and parts. Be introduced to the inner mountain bike track on Strider bikes.
Pedalers (4-5):
Practice steering, accelerating, stopping and general control on a pedal bike. Pedalers will be introduced to more advanced riding such as teeter totters, high beams, skinny beams, berms, pump tracks, etc. Attempt new challenges on the inner mountain bike track with the goal of being able to pedal the green runs on their own. Pedalers MUST be able to start on their own and be willing to try the green runs on a pedal bike upon joining the class.
Ringers (5-6):
Continue to try new challenges on the inner mountain bike track- mastery of green runs, working toward blue runs and beyond as well as attempt more obstacles of increased difficulty.
Cruisers (6-8):
Start to learn appropriate gearing if using a geared bike. Cruisers should be comfortable on blue runs and trying black runs.
Jumpers (8-10):
Work towards mastery of all obstacles and tracks at the facility. Try new, advanced tricks like wheelies, bunny hopping, bigger gap jumps, etc
